DHAMMA MADHURA Vipassana Meditation Centre Second centre in Tamil Nadu offering courses in Vipassana Meditation as taught by S.N.Goenka in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin

We are very happy to inform you that our second Vipassana Meditation Centre in Tamilnadu is coming up near Chettiyapatti, Gandhigram PO.

Pujya Guruji has named the Dhamma Land as "Dhamma Madhura".

Dhamma Madhura will be able to comfortably accommodate 100 students for Vipassana courses.

Dhamma land is 4 km from main road. It is situated 10 km before Dindigul City (51 km from Madurai). Dindigul is 160 km from Coimbatore, 100 km from Tiruchirapalli, 64 km from Madurai, 75 km from Karur and 84 km from Kodaikanal hills.

The land is situated just beside Sirumalai hills, known for its herbs with a lot of medicinal value. The atmospheric air here is capable of curing small diseases and is particularly helpful for those who suffer from asthma. The land is surrounded by the hill on one side, the road on another and a canal of natural water, streaming down the hill during rainy seasons, on the third side.

Work done so far

1. Fencing of Dhamma Madhura
2. One Electricity Board Line (Commercial) in the name of Dhamma Madhura
3. Bore well up to 500 feet done
4. Two temporary rooms and one temporary meditation hall (done with coconut leaves as seen in photo)
5. Planting of trees are all done when and where required on a continuous basis Till now 40 new coconut trees and 25 lime tree planted.

1. Work started for constructing 2 Rooms of 700 Square Feet in total with toilet facilities
2. Dinning Hall (1000 Square Feet)
3. Dhamma Hall (1500 Square Feet)
